The League Against Cruel Sports urgently seeks donations to launch a vital new campaign against illegal dog fighting.

Despite being made illegal in Britain in 1835, the brutal culture of this sick 'sport' is gaining ground with communities across the country being terrorised by groups who get pleasure out of breeding and fighting savage dogs.

Dog fighting involves cruelty at every stage, from the moment the dog is bred to the day when it fights for the last time. Dogs are trained to be violent by being starved and beaten. Those that seem weak or fail to show enough aggression are killed. If they don't die of their wounds, losing dogs may be electrocuted, drowned, or hanged.

The League is seeking donations to help fund an investigation into dog fighting and we need to raise at least £20,000 to get this campaign off the ground and make the evidence gathering and undercover investigation possible. The people behind dog fighting are often linked to organised criminal gangs who will not hesitate to use extreme violence against those that get in their way.
